New Music North Dakota highlights new music being created and performed in North Dakota.


New Music North Dakota is the composition studio of Kyle Vanderburg, working through North Dakota State University in Fargo and Valley City State University in Valley City.

NMND supports new music in North Dakota by promoting concerts featuring works by living and XXI-century composers, highlighting new performances of music by North Dakota composers, and creating opportunities for new music within the state.

HORACE HIGH SCHOOL SONG COMPETITION

Horace High School is working to establish its school spirit and community in preparation for the new school opening next fall. One of the most important aspects of a high school is its school song and Horace High School invites stakeholders and artists alike to submit a musical composition for official consideration as the school song. Between November 16, 2020 – March 15, 2021, members of the community are invited to submit a musical piece and application for consideration of the school song. VCSU Composer Ashley Hoyer releases new album

Renowned instrumentalists Ashley Hoyer, Ben Schreiber, and Aria DiSalvio join forces to perform Hoyer’s originals. The combination of mandolin, fiddle, and cello, along with the right balance of folk and classical influences, creates a sound that has been described as cinematic and transportive.
